Kent Beierle
Cofounder & Principal
A licensed architect and one of the founding partners at Equiterra, Kent is responsible for the integration of unique design strategies and new building technologies in our work. He is passionate about designing buildings that help regenerate local environments while meeting our clients’ goals. Using regenerative design principles, Kent develops distinctive designs that integrate with Place, taking full advantage of a site’s potential. The end results are beautiful buildings that engage the environment and their occupants.
Kent’s innovative and award-winning design work includes custom hospitality and resort projects, with a special focus on ecotourism, as well as custom commercial and residential, veterinary, medical, schools and master planning projects. Since 1993, he has specialized in integrated sustainable design and sustainability consulting.
Regularly challenging staff to push design to a higher level, Kent values progressive and out-of-the-box thinking. He plays an active role in raising the environmental awareness of design professionals, developers, and others in the field by leading sustainable design charettes and regularly lecturing on sustainable and regenerative design, appropriate building methodologies and sustainable living.
An avid world traveler, Kent loves to explore the world with his wife, Delcie, and their kids, particularly when sailing, scuba diving, archaeology and a bottle of good wine are involved.
